Cisco’s certification exam names and numbers will remain unchanged, ensuring a smooth transition. The only difference is in the certification titles, which are shifting from “CyberOps” to “Cybersecurity.” If you currently hold an active CyberOps certification, nothing will change.  

Since January 21, 2025, the certification has automatically transitioned to the new Cisco Cybersecurity credential, and you’ll be able to download your updated certificate and badge directly from the Cisco CertMetrics (SSO) portal

Candidates who recertified on or before January 20, 2025, will still receive the CyberOps badge, but certifications issued after January 21 will reflect the new Cisco Cybersecurity branding. 

Importantly, Cisco has confirmed that the CyberOps Associate and Professional certifications are not being retired (EOL’d), they are simply being rebranded to reflect a broader cybersecurity focus. The exam requirements and learning paths remain consistent with the previous program. 

What are the Updates to Exam Topics? 

Cisco has added new concepts to emphasize AI integration and practical applications. Here are some new certification-based changes in syllabus:

1. 200-201 CBROPS  introduces objectives focused on AI in monitoring and analytics, training candidates to leverage AI tools for anomaly detection, log correlation, and event prioritization, bridging the gap between theory and real-world use.
